Every cup of Floresco coffee carries a story.

This is how Floresco Roasting Company was born. It is a story of a group of people simply wanting to help a poor community in Guatemala, and of God leading them to unexpected places.

Where it began

I / IV

In 2018, Dr. Manny and Adriana Gonzalez founded Misión Floresco, a mission serving the community of San Nicolás in Fraijanes, Guatemala, where many families face generational poverty. There they met Dr. Mario Euceda, a physician devoted to helping the poor and underserved in his country. Together, the entire Gonzalez family and Dr. Mario embarked on a beautiful journey of cherished friendship, Christ-like service, and Christian discipleship with the people of San Nicolás.

Dreaming out loud

II / IV

In 2019, Mario and Adriana walked the grounds of a Guatemalan retreat center and dreamed of having their own land to house a gathering place that would serve not only the needs of Misión Floresco, but also provide retreat space for many other churches and ministries. More than a retreat center, this land and the structures that would one day be built would provide a place for the young adults of San Nicolás to equip themselves for the outside world and rise above the cycle of poverty perpetuated generation after generation in their community. Students would come to receive training and education at all levels: first and foremost in the Christian faith, then they would learn English, learn a trade, attend university.

In short, these young people would be able to pursue their beautiful dreams.

Manny’s question

III / IV

At the same time, Manny was asking another important question:

How could Misión Floresco create meaningful work and financial opportunity for the motivated young people of San Nicolás?

Three days that looked like failure

IV / IV

Only God knew how He would answer all those questions and begin to breathe reality into dreams. In June 2025, Manny planned a trip to Guatemala — a trip that would seem a failure at first glance, but that would actually set in motion God’s plan for Misión Floresco, a plan beyond anyone’s imaginings. Bad weather and poor landing conditions hindered Manny’s arrival in Guatemala City. The pilot made repeated attempts on consecutive days, only to be rerouted to San Salvador each day.

So for those three days, Manny found himself flying, eating, talking, and waiting alongside the same group of unexpected companions.

Little did Manny know that the relationships formed during those three days would open doors to new friendships, new possibilities, land, business opportunities, and a way forward for the dreams that had been planted years before.

The answer

God did it.

He brought Jorge Nichols and his family, fourth-generation coffee producers, who joined the mission not only as coffee experts, but as dear friends and fellow supporters of the vision.

Then came Finca Floresco, a coffee farm within walking distance of San Nicolás. Managed by Jorge, the farm provides meaningful work for people in the local community and, God willing, will one day become the home of the retreat center dreamed about years earlier.

And from that farm came Floresco Roasting Company, led by Manny and Adriana’s sons, Marcos and Alex Gonzalez, alongside their siblings—Miquel, Hunter, and David. Together, they are roasters with a heart for mission, carrying the story of Floresco from seed to cup.

Full circle

What began as a desire to serve a community has come full circle—from mission, to farm, to roastery, to you.

Why it matters

Floresco Coffee is coffee with a mission. With every cup, you become part of a story that is about far more than coffee. It is about creating opportunity, investing in people, building relationships, and believing that God can use even the most unexpected circumstances to bring a dream to life.

Coffee is the product.
People are the purpose.

The coffee that came out of all of this is roasted in small batches by the family in the story.
